I ACTUALLY LIVE HERE...Cochise was once a fuel stop for the Southern Pacific Railroad. With an increase in nearby ranching and mining activities population peaked during the 1880’s. Now the silence in Cochise is only occasionally broken by the roar of a diesel powered freight train that has no need to stop for water or coal.
